Avoid Duplicate Content

Duplicate Content

A friendly community is not just what it is required among writers.

You are allowed to flag duplicate content.

The rude behavior that exists among a few individuals can make one feel not so welcomed.

Offensive behavior is often the problem.

Unproductive acts.

The inappropriate acts not allowed on this site.

Cyber-bullying is a cause of poor communication.

Harassment online is problem with those who have anger issues.

You could flag an individual who does not follow through the above-mentioned.

Writers need the attention of other writers.

Content that appears in a comment not concerning the topic calls for flagging.

The chatty type who comments but not a single word applies to your topic. Instead, the comment has links of some advertisements.

Problematic content needs the attention of flagging.

Duplicate content is main problem.

The writer who copies and pastes information without modifications, and is using someone else's work.

I have noticed hubbers adding encouraging comments to poorly presented hubs and to duplicated work as well.

It is easy to find an article in different languages and to translate these articles.

The rest of the article does not make sense when translated with a few new additions.

Flag low quality hubs.

The low quality hubs deserve flagging since it is part of your poor writing.

You shouldn't focus on high hub-scores, and comment greatly on hubs that don't deserve a good comment.

Be honest about your comments.

I have read many hubs with poor grammar, and spelling errors.

Recently, I stumbled upon spun content, the too short content.

These actions concerning the poor writing attitude is not fair to those who spend hours in preparing a hub.

To meet the standard of Hubpages is acquired by all writers here.

Hubbers who add their best comments on such poor content, are hoping for others to return the favor in commenting on their hubs.

It is not simple to get the idea through a writer's mind.

Writers call themselves writers and share poorly written hubs.

The problem with most hubbers, they encourage the poorly written hubs with their awesome comments.

Why is low quality writing unfair to me and other writers on Hubpages?

The tremendous effort put into writing is enormous.

Due to our hard work we expect the same from other new writers joined here.

Writers have a right to write and explore their avenues.

I respect the work of other writers.

It does not mean a writer must use duplicated work on Hubages and call it their work.

Write from the heart and prove that to other writers too.

Since the existence of the Internet everyone wants to be a writer.

Hubpages has many good writers.

Remember you can't be a writer if you don't share y our work from the heart.

It is up to Hubpages to publish a specific hub.

The actions taken are up to the team of Hubpages.

I don't mean every person on Hubpages is writing poorly.

Stolen articles are on many sites.

It is not possible to flag every single one.

Follow the Terms and Conditions and you won't go wrong.

You are free to flag any hub, I am not against the flag approach.

Comment on hubs that deserve the good comments.

The hubs you think are poorly presented and written deserve the appropriate comment.

It is not accepted to copy and paste any article online.

Research is different to copying the work of other writers.

To flag an article, it does not make you the judge of that person's work.

You want the best from that writer so it is fair to other writers.

To have an article flagged means to have the Hub team see for themselves what is appropriate for this site.

Spammers shouldn't feel at home here.

Writers who copy and article and pastes it in a translation tool is no writer.

Would you respect that person?

I know every individual deserves a chance to write and share their work online.

Writing is not a simple-to-do approach.

A writer deserves respect for sharing their own written work from the heart.

Writers need to be honest in their comments to other writers on any writing site.

Don't comment to have that favor returned.

Criticism is the way to learn more from what you write.

Read and understand your work, and make sure it is your work.

It is not wrong to flag another writer

Writers need an honest opinion from other writers, always.

This is to continue their journey in the writing field.

The false comments on hubs don't help writers.

Trust is required among writers and comments.

Experienced writers know low quality, from high quality writing.

I worked extremely hard to get all my hubs featured.

Why should other writers get the same credit if they did not show any effort?

Some writers use Hubpages to earn a few dollars.

The quality is important just as the quantity of a Hub.

Three years of writing for Hubpages and I have learned lots from the friendly community.

Short written hubs serve no purpose to many readers.

Information shared requires efforts from a true writer.

Should you flag other writers?

To flag other writers sounds awful.

I am sure flagging would allow for a better educated writer.

Are you too critical?

How often do you Flag?

Team work is required for good writing on Hubpages.

In order to work together and to remove poor quality hubs is a great idea to a happy community.

To earn those views you need to write and share your best work.

It does sound mean to flag others for their poorly written work.

Writers who share their work with no proper style, or manner don't deserve a good feedback.

High quality is they way to go here.

For example:

Hubbers who share duplicate work are given the duplicate warnings.

The outgoing links are not allowed.

Nobody wants their work stolen. It s not a good feeling to see your work published elsewhere by someone else.

Do you browse through Hubpages and search for that hub to be flagged?

Hubs are flagged if written poorly and are duplicated.

Does flagging mean you are betraying another writer?

Would you call it betrayal, if your hub is flagged?

All writers on Hubpages or on any other site require the same treatment.

You want to earn, to be active, and you chose to write.

Every writer needs to follow the Terms and Conditions of any writing website.

Comments help but are of no good when encouraging the poorly written hub.

Make your point and be direct about it.

I don't mind the criticism.

The desire to learn from your mistakes and to improve from that is the key to good quality writing.

There is room for improvement.

You have to show your true writing.

I checked and re-checked all my hubs for better improvement.

Due to the recent fixing of my hubs I have all featured.

Writing is hard work!

Time and effort is required for better quality.

When you make the quantity your focus in writing a hub you tend to forget about the quality.

You can write thousands of words but if the articles don't make any sense, and does not serve a purpose, then you are wasting your time and efforts.

Be sure of what you want from your writing.

Some people take writing seriously and earn a living online and others write for some pocket money.

Writing is also a pleasure for many writers.

It is the inexperienced writers that have a poor approach online.

Writing is from the heart!

However, some writers don't write from the heart.

Something that comes from within.

If you don't have the gift in writing, you will find it most difficult to put pen to paper from the heart.

Write from the Heart

Good writing is supposed to evoke sensation in the reader - not the fact that it is raining, but the feeling of being rained upon.

Hi! Nadine makes some nice points. Short may often be better as a reader's time is precious. I try to make mine as short as possible and TO THE POINT. I often read HUBS simply because Huber's are my friends. Most often I can see a great deal of work that goes into a HUB and am amazed!

I still have 3 hubs that have been copied and I don't think those who copied these really cared about copyright. I wish that online writers would not do this.

I have never flagged someone, and yes some hubs are more interesting than others, but somehow I have not yet come across a badly written hub. A short hub yes, but then some people their attention span is just not long enough to read a whole long article. I do agree that the site site administrators have to weed out the bad writers, if only to keep the writing standard high. That will then benefit us all who are prepared to spent hours preparing a hub article like I do, being a dyslectic.

I always flag for obvious spamming, and one of my hubs was duplicated so that was a concern, but thanks to the diligence of Hub Pages they warned me and fixed it. Hub Pages is pretty good about policing its hubs, and usually people who get featured at least meet the basic writing requirements, though not always. I personally prefer to let the site administrators weed out the bad writers. Good food for thought.

Done a good job, Devika. People reading this, who might have indulged in such practices, should feel guilt and try to correct themselves. You have aptly raised this issue which every writer should know. Thanks for it.

Devika, thanks for bringing up these issues. Several of them cause disappointment among writers who are trying to do the right thing. "Why should other writers get the same credit if they did not show any effort?" This question and others deserve honest, personal attention. Good topic!

Devika, I have had some of my work stolen and the site is still up, minus my work and the work of other hubbers that I saw when I there I reported to HubPages, Google and the hubbers themselves.

I do not flag poorly written hubs (poor grammar/spelling/punctuation), that is the job of HP's administrators, maybe the writers are doing the best they can. I believe the more a person writes the more they improve.

Like my dear friend Ruby (always exploring) says if someone visits my hub(s) I show everyone the same courtesy, whether I like/dislike what they have written.

      Blessings and Hugs my friend.

Three or four years ago people from a foreign writing site stole many hubs from this site and published them as theirs. The site was shut down but the hurt remains. I am a firm believer that if people visit my hubs and comment, I show them the same courtesy. Some people may not like a hub but others love it. That old cliché is appropriate here, " Different strokes for different folks." Your hub is well researched and deserves an excellent comment.

Hi Devika another interesting and useful work that will resonate with your readers. The points you have made are excellent and it is sure to draw a wide and diverse range of comments. As you have duly noted the writing of, and preparation required for a good standard hub takes time and a lot of thought. Well done great work.

Well said, there is nothing more irritating than having work stolen and reproduced elsewhere. I confess I have never flagged anything other than spam on this site. I fail to understand how copied content passes the quality standards in the first place but, this is another story. Maybe this is where it should start. Good on you for speaking up.
