Foggy Mind

Updated on December 7, 2011

Foggy Mind

Walking in the streets late at night
Old lamp posts on the side shedding no light
So the fog seeps in drifting beneath the sky
With wing-like feet I glide down the side
My steps echo, no matter how quiet I fly
But as quick as I go the fog stays in my mind
That way then this way, wherever I am thrown
The source of this fog comes from someplace unknown
It's thicker than mist, almost as dense as a cloud
My outcries are not heard no matter how loud
Looking into the distance , I realize I am alone
The substance creeps into my body, numbing to the bone
The shadows surround me and play tricks on my eyes
Creatures scurry away knowing my secrets and lies
They ask: Are you running in fear, are you afraid of love?
The answer is lost in my mind and in the haze above
It floats all around literally clouding my vision
My eyesight is obscured and the darkness becomes a prison
My ears are victim to the crushing blow that leaves all in silence
It's impossible to believe if you can't be convinced
Decisions need to be made to see the results
But regardless of them my foggy mind revolts
My heart beat slows ,The confusion ensues
My clouded mind brews
I try to refuse
But I always lose
Giving up, I've paid my dues
In the end I realize, ......the darkness is my muse
