Champs Elysees at night!
Live for the PRESENT, dream of the FUTURE, learn from the PAST-- Anonymous.
I woke up two hours later, in time for dinner so I decided to explore Champs Elysees. This time, I took a cab because my experience with taking the Metro at night in New York City was rather seedy. There was no point in taking chances. This taxi ride was fun and the driver spoke English; he was from London;
"What's a pretty girl like you doing in Paris?," he inquired;
"I'm an art student and visiting some friends," I told him because I didn't want anyone to know that I was traveling alone;
"Oh, where are you meeting them exactly? Do you have an address of a bar or restaurant?," he wanted to drop me off as close as possible to my destination;
"I'd like to stop into a store first so you can just drop me off at the beginning of the Avenue and I'll walk, thanks," I replied;
"Have they taken you to O'Sullivan's, the pub? Actually, thre are a few in town at Montmarte and St. Germain. You should go there after dinner for karaoke," he suggested;
Then I saw the Arc de Triomphe in its golden splendor and the chic hotels that lined the busy Avenue;
"Do you know where the pizza place is?," I asked the driver;
"Sure, I do. Is that where you're going?," he turned around and looked at me;
"I've heard it's busy but it isn't expensive and they have good beer. It's a good a place as any," he answered;
"Ok, great. Let's go there then," I requested;
I gave him 40 francs and a little extra cash for the welcomed conversation and walked to the pizzeria. I didn't like to go to restaurants alone now because for starters, I didn't seem to order the right thing and second, the waitstaff would look at me funny when I asked for a table for one and finally, I felt ripped off between the currency exchange. Pizza seemed like a good choice anyway. "Besides, how bad could a pizza be in Paris?," I thought;
After indulging in pizza, I thought I should make my way back to the hotel because the next morning, noon & night was going to be intense traveling to Venice, Italy on a train. Plus, I was truly looking forward to reuniting with my penpal Stefano and explore Venice;

The next morning I woke up in Paris, I ate my favorite Nutella and banana crepe and packed a ham and cheese crepe in my backpack for my visit to Versailles which is on the outskirts of Paris. I took Paris' fast train to Versailles, of course, and arrived 45 minutes later;
2016--Random thoughts, immortality;
When I went to a castle on the outskirts of Paris, I wondered about how high society spent their leisure time, dressed and socialized; I even wondered if Dracula and the like ever reincarnated and lived in Paris, London, Vienna and in other places and lifetimes being that the saying goes is that Dracula and his vampires were immortal--food for thought--I'm always thinking at millisecond speeds and in parallel thought; the words simply spill forth from my soul :)-Bibi Luzarraga.
