Follow Me - A Poem

Updated on November 11, 2012

Follow Me

Is all you need
Is to follow me

Never to regret it

No need to tell me your want
I will know

No need to ask me my want
You will know

Never a time
Never a reason
Never a desire
To stop following me

Never a time
Never a reason
Never a desire
To stop leading you

Never to regret it

Is to follow me
Is all we need

      Intrigue is haunting me.

Thank You very much Tammy... For I do think you understand my intended meaning within this piece... No, it was not to entice 'followers' here on HubPages... It is all about that 'male essence' in which you refer to... I am not an 'old man' by any stretch of the term... Yet I am certainly a 'traditionalist' in every sense of the word...

At first I thought this was a plea to Hubbers to join you on your Hubbing journey. The wonderful poem is a nice surprise. I love the male essence infused in your words. Wonderful!

Thank you snoblet.. Not too many people do understand what I am implying in this poem.. I wonder who might actually understand its subliminal references..

CriticalMessage, What a charming but compelling and cryptic poem with layers of personal meaning and philosophical applications! In particular, I like this pantoum/rondeau/sestina/villanelle type of poetry which uses repetition to present words, thoughts, feelings and deeds from different perspectives and in different ways.

      Up + UFABI.

Respectfully, and with many thanks for sharing and with a big Welcome to HubPages, Derdriu

The fun in writing is to see the reactions from individual interpretations... Not everbody is percieving the same thing, the same way...

Well I do not see the stalker aspect that you do... I see it more of a mutual understanding, trust and mutually prefered routine that is mutually beneficial for compatible personalities... As nochance indicated, not for everybody for their very individual reasons... and as 'tb' pointed out.. some are better followers and some are better leaders... A good follower combined with a good leader makes for a good team.

      Jeff,

Interesting poem. Subliminally speaking, I believe you have achieved your goal my friend! You could even call this 'Ode to a Stalker' ...I mean...if you wanted to.

Thanks and have a great holiday!

*hugs* -n- *smiles* for tb... perfectly understood and expressed with simple integrity. Thank You !, and maybe I should have built that understanding into my poem.. Yet subliminally that is what I was attempting to express.

Some are born leaders and some are born to follow, harmony when well matched and chaos when not.

Which is why there are individual preferences that need to be understood and respected, if they can not be understood and appreciated. You know I appreciate your perspective when knowing that you appreciate peoples Rights, to have their own perspectives and preferences. Thank you for sharing yours.

This is a cute poem. If only love and relationships were that easy. I'm not a huge fan of the point of this poem because I believe that one member of a relationship should not have to unconditionally follow the other. It is a two person process and both should walk side by side and find their own path.

Have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Holiday everybody. As I too, will be remembering and thanking those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom that enables our potential.
