For Ruth

Updated on November 10, 2014
 Ruth and myself in London.
Ruth and myself in London.

Like a fragile bird with a broken wing,You are wounded and you cannot fly.

People tell you that you'll heal, slowly, gradually, as time goes by.

Like a beautiful songbird, unable to sing, like a swallow unable to swoop or soar.

You are fragile now, and delicate, But this will not last forever more.

You're a beautiful woman, with strength and faith,.Your heart as deep as the Ocean blue,

Your kindness expounds, though you're saddled with pain.

We are blessed to know you and your love so true.

We love you, dear Ruth and will always be here, if ever you find yourself crushed again.

We're with you to help you pick up the pieces. Hold you,Love you and take all the strain.

At the moment you cannot see far ahead,or imagine no broken wing and no wounds.

But you surely will heal , although you'll have scars.

Your pain will rise up and soar to the stars.

You deserve to be happy. You love and you give,

Even now while each day is difficult to live.

You're special, dear Ruth and always will be.

When hurting too much, then you must come to me.

I'll dry all your tears and tend to your scars,

Then life will continue. Painfull but true.

Being the one left behind , it is hardest on you.

Hello Dim - Your pain will heal, oh, so slowly, but it will heal. Writing these beautiful poems will help.

My dear friend, it takes a lot for me to return to HP to visit..and I am so glad that I visited you. This is beautiful and has such depth. Death is such a painful and sad event, and like you said..the one left behind takes it the hardest. Thank goodness for Jesus' ransom sacrifice that will allow all our loved ones another chance to be together once more so very soon. :-)

    Hi JayeWisdom,

Thank you for a beautiful comment. It was a shock when Ruth's sister suddenly died so young, and l have never seen Ruth look so fragile.

Death is dreadful for any of us left behind.

Yet it happens every day, we never get used to it.

Thank you again. l appreciate the time you've taken to read and comment.

    Thank you so much PegCole.

Ruth is a strong woman, but losing her sister , who had just had her47th birthday days before her death was hard to take.

All l could see when we met was a little , fragile bird with a broken wing.

She kept telling ME to stay strong, Bless her.

l appreciate you reading and your condolences.

Your poem, though an outpouring of your feelings, is also a glorious tribute to a beautiful and fragile woman. My sympathy is with you, and I hope that writing about Ruth will help you cope until you can face memories with joy in remembrance instead of pain. There is no escaping grief for any of us, but getting through to the other side and being able to remember happier times with your loved one is worth working toward. Blessings...Jaye
