For all of my life. ( Poem )

Updated on August 5, 2013
My beautiful daughter
My beautiful daughter

My daughter

My first born and cherished baby girl,

welcome little one to the world.

Wrapped in pink so soft and sweet,

I stare at you and start to weep.

Learning words and standing tall,

I'll always be there should you fall.

Playing dress up,

as a princess most days,

I'll forever remember this childhood phase.

Driving cars and dating boys,

your putting away childhood toys.

Soon you'll be off and on your own,

My beautiful daughter,

Oh how you've grown

Through disappointments and loved ones taken,

I've tried to keep your heart from breaking.

With love, hugs and kisses,

these are my wishes.

Love yourself through and through,

see yourself as other do.

You'll make your future with little strife,

I love you my daughter,

for all of my life

Thank you very much ImKarn, I didn't get to see my daughter after she was born for several hours. When I finally got to see her it was just her and I. I laid her between my legs and slowly unwrapped her, counting fingers and toes and just staring at her, I couldn't believe I had grown her inside my belly. I had just un-wrapped the most beautiful gift I had ever been given. Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you ystenoh, we are close, albeit sometimes too close that we tend to but heads. I guess it wouldn't be a good mother daughter relationship without all the head butting! Thanks for stopping by.

Setting them free is the easy part, hoping they stay close is harder. Thanks for reading!

Very sweet tribute to your daughter. I hear what you say in that my daughter is getting married this summer. You write as you have a close relationship with your daughter. Very nice.

Very Sweet, wildove. My grown son thinks I am overly protective. I remind him that it is he who has changed, not I.

Being a Mother is a hard job. We want to protect them from the harsh realities of life. At some time, we have to set them free and hope our

training will be the whisper of wisdom that they hear in their ear.

      Nicely done, wildove!

      DJ.
