For whom my love sways

Updated on July 29, 2015

A Love Poem

For whom my love sways
special love song to sing on cloudy days
music for him when I am away.

Whether it is night or day
melody whispered in his ear
for whom my love sways.

Angelic tunes my heart obeys
for only him when I am far or near
sounds of heartstrings strung for him I may

my voice will be the one he hears.
To my knees I do pray
for whom my love sways.

Some will try to take him far, far away
for him the love will lack loving cheer
he’ll not listen to what they say

nor waste time with false tears.
Still I will return on my sunny way
for whom my love sways
special love song to sing on cloudy days.

      Jo,

Faith (Theresa) is one my favorite people. She is just simply put: Awesome. I appreciate your kind words. Know that I will be over to read more of your hubs, but please be patient for most of my time right now if focused on my dad and family.

      Blessings,

      Kim

This is beautifully and profoundly written.

I really enjoyed it and was really fascinated with the style in which you wrote it. Truly beautiful. Shared & Up.

Nice to meet you! Your friend Faith Reaper sent me over. :-)

      THE WONDERFUL

The woman old who knows she sees the wonderful

must have en-souled the images most beautiful

she gleaned from many years of life experience

that taught her how to recognize significance.

She sets aside her verbal inconvenience

to praise a younger woman poet's radiance.

While doubting she has worthy comment meaningful,

she does not seem to realize she is the wonderful.

      Best wishes to all,

but esp. to those who recognize

the beauty and strength in Kim's work,

      Max

I wish I could take credit for the repetition idea, but it is because of a prescribed form. Still, the fact you used the word, "gorgeous" makes me smile all over. I needed that smile.

      Thank You!

This phenomenal work of art shows brilliant talent, with miles yet to grow (to who knows what heights?!), and serious study not only of poetic forms but of life forms as well. Emily Dickinson comes to mind.

And the spectacular color painting from the Vatican archives looks as though the artist created it specifically for this poem, and that the woman at the center actually portrays you at the end of your poem.

I'm sure I safely speak for many others when I say, Thank you, Kim, for presenting to the world these priceless treasures from your heart and soul and mind.
