Forget-me-not - (a poem)

Updated on July 3, 2012

Forget me not - says life to you!!

Forget-me-not! Don't let life pass you by as you sit at the computer day after day. Don't lose a friend as you put off writing to her/him, for another day! Don't let the old and aged wait for you to shut down , they may shut out before you know. Remember that your soul and your spirit yearns for your time. Your soul mate sorely needs your attention. Are you there? Do you hear? Oh forget me not ! I am the inner voice talking.. Will you listen...??????

Forget me not,
Cries the soul!
Forget me not,
Yearns the spirit!

Forget me not,
Says life to me,
As you are lost,
In the internet sea!

Forget me not,
Writes a friend,
You are ever busy,
At your end!

Forget me not,
Warns the spouse,
I am lord and master,
Of the house!

Forget me not,
Pleads the painting,
I need your attention,
I need finishing!

Forget me not,
Says the mother,
You have time,
For every other!

Forget me not
Growls my dog
And paws me on,
As I blog!

Forget me not,
Groans the bed,
If you ignore me
You’ll soon be dead.

Forget me not,
Mourns the book,
Turn around,
And give me a look!

Forget me not,
Yells the comp at me,
I am lord and master,
Unmistakably!

The inner voice would like to give space to the written voice....

Hi shimmering Dawn, how easy it is to be wrapped up in the moment, we forget and neglect, the forget me not is a good reminder and a beautiful flower, thank you for sharing.

Poetic fool, thank you for the read and the comment. Most of us just forget about everything when we sit in front of the comp with our HubPages and blogs and stuff open .. sometimes it is an escape from real life. It was a call from my inner being that I am giving heed to them, and I guess many of us really do need to heed that call :)

Have a lovely day and God Bless!

Haikutwinkle, time is precious indeed, it seems as though there is more to do and very less time, I wish I could strike a balance in my life... :) I need to keep trying harder :) Thank you Haikutwinkle for your insightful comment.

Ha, Ha.. I am glad you can relate to this. Sitting in front of the computer seems to be the only answer these days. Always Exploring, I am glad that, that reminder to myself serves as one for you to... Yeah it was written to remind myself that I need to break away :) Thank you for the read and the comment :)

Time is precious indeed ...and as your loved ones continue to grow and grow... 24 hours may seem insufficient to give to all your loved ones ;D

Nice writing style with many different elements for each paragraph.

Chuckandus, Welcome to this shimmeringly beautiful, little world of mine. Those of us who have got hooked on to the internet and the hubworld do feel pulled from all directions. We need to strike the right balance as far as internet time and life is concerned. Glad you love the poem. Thank you so much and God bless!

Good to see you again Timorous, It is natural to get looped in the internet loop. I am strongly reminded of this even though I do not do much work here on these pages. :) This is my relaxing corner. Thank you for the read and the comment. I truly appreciate it. :)

Haha..so true, shim. It seems way to easy to get caught up in the comings and goings on the internet. We must be mindful of those around us, and give them the time they deserve, including relaxing your own mind.

I can relate to that poem quite a bit. There are many times that I have to remind myself to pay attention to the dogs, kids and family. I think setting limits on computer use is a good thing. Loved the prose and the pictures.
