Forgotten Tear (poem)

Updated on January 14, 2017

It seems I’ve come this way before

A path that lead me to your door

Why did I wander to explore

Was there a dream which promised more

What crazy whim came over me

To blind me so I couldn’t see

There is no better place to be

Than in your smile eternally

Yet on and on and long before

The kisses stopped my will to see

Without a care how things could be

As I lost sight of ever-more

Who is this person once was me

Now knocks upon some stranger’s door

Yet finds no wonders to explore

Than one who waits eternally

Forgotten tear deserved much more

Than wonder lusted to explore

Who now comes crawling to your door

In search of what was lost before

Sad but so lovely. It is unfortunate that it happens at times we cannot see the love before us and start seeking love where there is none.

Quite moving and so poignant. Don't know what you got till it's gone done with such graceful phrasing.

Very compelling hardly ending pursuit after something what's yonder
