Ghosts of a Kind - poetry month contribution

Updated on August 25, 2015
Schloss Mespelbrunn
Schloss Mespelbrunn | Source

Here is my contribution to April's Poetry Month. This is a castle I visited often when I lived in Germany as this was located about an hour by car from where I lived. It was built during the middle ages and sits in the Spessart woods of Germany. The original family, many generations since then, still lives here and they share it with the public every summer.

Ghosts mingle as

laughter twinkles down the hallways

of my Castle

Remembrances float by

my imagination

Bringing back memories

so treasured and sure

Once upon a time

through the eyes of Ghosts

I like your photo of the castle and the poem. Nothing anyone built today could last that long. I enjoy anything from Germany.

Kim: This is just my favorite place in Germany. So quiet and peaceful as visitors can mill around the grounds around castle and then tour the castle which is still beautiful today. There are artifacts from the middle ages on display and it truly is a comfortable castle in which to live. I would love a 'road trip' with you Kim. It would never be a dull moment.

'laughter twinkles down the hallway...how fanciful that is.

Sweet, concise and clear images....it takes real creativity to say more, with fewer words.

Hi Mike: I am certainly not one of the great poets here on HP, but I wanted to contribute at least one poem during April - Poetry Month. Thanks so much for you enthusiasm and that oil painting of the castle sounds interesting. Now, maybe you will notice it! LOL! It has a wonderful history and culture behind it, and really my favorite castle in Germany. Thanks so much for your visit.

Great contribution to April poetry month. I happen to have an oil painting of that castle done by Eugene Schmidt. I don't even notice it when I pass it by. Your picture reminded me it was there.
