What The Heart Wants

No words were spoken for quite some time. William watched as tears rolled down her face and he longed to reach out to comfort her but he wasn't sure how to do so; affection wasn't something he handled very well. Kinessa calmed herself and looked at William. "I told you I needed to speak with you about something, I suppose this is a fitting time. I have been having these visions, I'm not sure why. It started on our way here when the body snatcher attacked. I saw you as a child; you were gathering wood and your father showed up saying it was time for you to leave. You begged him to let you stay and you were crying." William's breathing increased and he could tell his temper was growing short. His past was not something he thought much of, it made him angry, abandoned and absolutely like trash. He quickly stood up and walked away for the fear he may do something that could get her hurt. However that didn't stop her. Kinessa was off the couch and on his heels. "Go away Kinessa, I don't want to hear anymore." She reached out and grabbed him by the arm. A low growl came from his throat as his body began to tremble beneath her fingers. "What are you going to do, change into a wolf and kill me and run from your problems again?" She knew this was a stupid move but she was tired of people lying or hiding everything from her.

William's temper was pushing toward the edge and he had to either get rid of her or calm himself down. However calming down wasn't as easy as it seemed and she wasn't helping by pushing her luck. "I asked you to go away for a reason." Her grip tightened on his arm. "Don't push me Kinessa!" She went to jerk him around to face her but he caught her by the wrist and pushed her up against the wall. "I asked you to leave because I don't want to hurt you and I don't like you seeing me change into a monster." Kinessa felt guilty about placing him in such an intense position but she needed the truth and nobody was willing to give for one reason or another. She looked at him in understanding but before she could walk away she offered a piece of advice. "For the record you're not a monster. We all have something we change into; it's our actions that decide if we are a monster or not." She released her grip and went to step away when he gently pulled her back. "I have done horrible things in this life, to other lives, some things unforgivable. Isn't that considered a monster?" William dropped his head and her hand and walked away. He sat on the floor remembering all the things he had been made to do so he could gain his freedom.

Kinessa knelt down in front of him and took his face in her hands and looked into his eyes. She could see he was still battling with the transformation but his eyes remained to be the same beautiful hazel color. "I don't know what all you have done yet, however all these visions or whatever they are; I'm sure they are going to show me. Therefore if I need to know something please tell me. Either way you can't make me believe you are a monster." She wasn't sure if it was instinct or the way his eyes just pulled her in but she closed the gap left between them and kissed his lips softly; then as graceful as a water flowing she stood and walked out of the room so he could reflect on what she said to him.

Meanwhile Cameron was still searching the wooded areas for Kinessa. He knew she couldn't have gone too far without being found with ease. Only one person could move this fast and knew his way around these woods. "William!" Cameron was convinced that William would bring nothing but death and destruction. He decided brother or not if Kinessa had so much as a scratch he would kill him. Cameron more determined to find them continued to follow the wooded path when he came upon William's cave. It looked as if it hadn't been occupied in days. "This would be simpler if I could do a damn locator spell." Cameron grumbled but he knew someone would be watching for any signs to Kinessa's place of hiding. He wasn't any kind of a tracker and didn't really know how to navigate the woods without some kind of help; besides he was more than certain William would have been more than prepared for someone to try to follow them which meant traps. He needed to find a tracker. He left the cave and returned back to his mother's house to locate a tracker.

"Who are we waiting for?" Kinessa asked William as he emerged from the room that looked like a library. William didn't answer right away weighing the risk of her having knowledge of information in case someone decided to go poking around in her head. "His name is Claude. He is someone that can give you all the answers you have been looking for." He sat down beside her and took her hand. "I want to apologize for earlier. I had no right to get so worked up. You are just looking for the truth and I already know about my past. I shouldn't be acting like a child about things I can't go back and change no matter how much it hurts. You deserve better than that out of me. I'm supposed to protecting you not acting like a bonafide titty baby." She giggled at the description he made of himself. Her laughter seemed infectious and before they knew it they were laughing together. "You really have a beautiful smile." Kinessa blurted out before her brain could put the brakes on. "What?" William managed to get out between laughs and breaths for air. She went sheepish and ducked her head down for a moment. "Your smile, it's well, beautiful. You rarely smile but when you do I don't know I kind of find myself in amazement. The same with your eyes. They are always so intense but when you smile it's like the sparkle. I really love that about you." Did she really just say she loved that about him? Her mind was running a thousand miles an hour. "I guess that was pretty stupid, huh?" He just stared at her trying to make sure he heard what she just said correctly. Kinessa started to feel uneasy due to William not saying anything so she gathered her thoughts and stood up and walked away while he was still in trance.

When William finally came back into reality he found Kinessa was no longer sitting beside him nor anywhere in the living room area. Panic struck and he went looking for her. He found her in one of the bedrooms. It was small, with light blue paint, and a window seat which happened to be where she was sitting. Before William had a chance to speak a single word she whispered "You think I'm stupid, don't you? The way I see things or even explain how I feel. It's stupid. I don't know why I'm this way. I just am." William he wanted her, he knew that he was falling for her in every way, but he also knew that she and Cameron had been physically involved and in a way that bothered him. He didn't know exactly why; maybe it was the fact that they were never meant to be or the fear she would always want him because he was her first love. It didn't matter though he sucked it up and reached out for her and lifted her off the window seat "You're not or have ever been stupid. You are amazing, beautiful and completely rare. I can't imagine anyone else I would rather spend the rest of my life with as my soul mate." He wrapped his arms around her and just stood there quietly enjoying the moment.

"Where the hell is this so called tracker? He should have been here by now. The longer we wait the less our chances are for getting Kinessa back to safety." Cameron shouted as he slammed his fist down hard on the table. "She will not need nor want your help when you find her child she is with her soul mate; as shall you be soon." The woman who told him just days earlier that they weren't meant to be together spoke up. "Your mission is still the same to protect her but it has changed you must keep her alive which means you must keep your brother William alive, for if she loses him she will sacrifice herself. You know what I say is true." Cameron shook his head in anger. Cameron can you come here please?" His mother called for him from the front door. As he stepped into the front room he seen his mother talking to a woman about his age, long black hair, and dark eyes. "Cameron this is Rilynn. She will be your tracker." Cameron was dumbfounded by this, this beautiful creature was a tracker. "Look no offense but there are no male trackers. This could get really dangerous and I need someone that can hold their own if a fight breaks out." If looks could kill he would have been deep fried and served on a platter. "No offense! I am the best tracker in these parts; which means if it's lost I find it and as far as a fight goes you don't have to worry about protecting me. I can take care of myself." Wow! The only thought that came to Cameron's head at that moment was "What an arrogant bitch." Of course what came out of his mouth was totally different. "Fine, let's get going."
