A gilded sadness
in her harrowed heart
pulling strings of day
and night apart
The breathing and darkness
envelope the life
of worrying daughter
mother
wife
The tireless clock is ticking
the ghosts come close
and cold
the heart once strong and solid
has grown compliant and old
The daytime churns
with repeated concerns
The nighttime decends
with uncertain friends
The horizon draws near
The destination more clear
As tireless time ticks on
