Poetry for Women: All She Ever Wanted

Updated on June 16, 2013
Source

She looms in the shadows,

Carrying 6 inches of serrated steel,

Contemplating peeling off your skin

In layers like a banana peel

Cacophonic echoes of laughter

Racing through her mind

Visualizing your crimes

Why did you cross the line?

All she ever wanted

Was to build a happy home

But you desecrated her walls

Letting your lack of inhibitions roam

Now it’s time to pay

The blood price for your actions

She couldn’t get her R-E-S-P-E-C-T

But she will get her satisfaction.

      ooh hoo hoo!

That one had me shuddering with a grim sort emotion which was a combination both fear and admiration.

Thank you everyone for your comments. This one started out a bit dark, so I used the picture to lighten up the mood a bit. The message however is clear. Be careful who's heart you play with, because there will be great consequences.

No, I haven't pissed anyone off. I just have a twisted sense of humor.

Oh, I love this! You've done a great job at mixing humor and emotional darkness.

I found the first stanza humorous the first time I read it... but yeah, people in relationships who can't control their inhibitions suck. I tend to call them "users" or "players". And you hit it on the nose with the title.. respect.. A 6 letter letter word that means so much, but something so many want and can't get.

That is another great one. I voted up for sure. The mix is cool.
