Give Me Insight

Updated on May 27, 2010

Struggles of self-destruction and sacrifice

Of one's self

My diluted dignity

I plagiarize my pride

Always waiting for boredom to play...

But never does

It competes with me

What a taste... to lick something so sweet

As the glass fills half full

To hear the voice

Of reason and not misery

Reason with me

Give me insight to what I can't see

Protect me from the predators that prey on my soul

I can't stay

I must go

I must runaway now

Before I am caught

By the wicked voices

That prowl each thought

I agree with Shadesbreath, that is a very neat line, "I plagiarize my pride".

      Beautiful poem, well done!

You write very eloquently fragmented images. A mosaic of emotions, methinks. Very nice. :)

      "I plagiarize my pride."

THAT is a very, very cool concept. Clever and deep.

Beautiful. I love the imagery. Sometimes when I sleep, I try to stay asleep, so that I don't have to face the day. I must learn to face the day anyway.

I hear and feel your plea, how powerful I love these lines

"To hear the voice Of reason and not misery

      Reason with me

Give me insight to what I can't see

Protect me from the predators that prey on my soul."

      Wow! Great Job,

      Sage
