Glass Ceiling
By DynamicS
On the path to upward mobility; looking through the glass
Ceiling your expectation: transparency, diversity and inclusiveness.
Instead you find conformity, uniformity and exclusivity is the reality
You seek for a staircase, a window or a ladder of opportunity
So you jump and wave; but they still don’t see you
Thinking that the beckoning was in good faith
You endeavour to take a place at the table.
Gesturing your intention; but you seem transparent
So you jump and wave; but they still don’t see you.
The phone you’ve tried but their voice mail instructs:
“Leave a message we’ll call you back.”
But they lied because no call you receive
So you jump and wave; but they still don’t see you.
You e-mail about your positive attitude; your value
Added contributions that would make them look
Good to great; but still they do not recognize your efforts
So you jump and wave; but they still don’t see you.
Few days ago an announcement you peruse
With all your initiatives and recommendations for improvement
So you’ve brought a sledge hammer
Do you think they’ll listen now?
