Gloria (poem)

Updated on February 2, 2015

Gloria with her brother at 1976 Disco Championship

Once there was a girl Gloria her name

Who filled the dreams of every guy in school

Sheer beauty was the source of all her fame

And with it every young man’s heart she’d rule

And other girls would walk and talk like her

For Gloria was news again today

Hot rumors thrilled with kisses she’d confer

Another beau which she had cast away

For Gloria I didn’t stand a chance

An echo of a theme within my mind

So other girls I’d ask out to the dance

Whose response I thought might be bit more kind

Now that was days and years of long ago

But somehow fate brought Gloria to me

She bared how she had always loved me so

And with those words forever changed I’d be

Lovely piece of work. Your words with your picture evoking clear images of youthful memories, but then maturing into a happy ending.
