Goals: A Poem

Updated on January 3, 2014

Goals, goals, goals,

Checking off to-do lists before you age,

Like an actor before he takes his last bow,

Attempting to thrill before exiting the stage,

Success before a sense of accomplishment,

Trophies, ribbons, and applause,

Running races to get ahead,

Working hard without a pause,

Goals, goals, goals,

Are okay, but maybe life isn't a to-do list,

Maybe there's more to living,

Like love, peace, and happiness.

We can get so wrapped up in lots of little things in our lives that we forget about the important, priceless things that give true happiness. A lovely poem.
