Goodnight To Today: A Poem

Updated on April 11, 2012
Source

Close the door on today

as the rays color the sky

pink, orange, and red

Today says goodbye.

Never to be another

today descends in glory

tomorrow will soon begin

Chance for a fresh new story.

Hope, desires, dreams

promises to start the day

first show appreciation

and say goodnight to today.

Nice image and poem as well. We should appreciate each day, its challenges and its rewards.

kj force, thanks! Some days I feel guilty for not getting more accomplished, but I always forgive myself before going to sleep! I feel that everything happens for a reason, and I did what I was supposed to do that day. Nothing more. Nothing less.

      Thanks for the comment!

Gypsy, some sunsets are so beautiful they can't be described, they can only be felt! I'm thankful I get to see the sun rise and set! Thank you for your comment!

This makes me think of one of my favorite quotes. "A new day, a new beginning." I absolutely love this. You should put the words of the poem onto the picture of a beautiful sunset and turn it into a poster. I'd buy it. I have many motivational posters that I framed in my house. Very pretty.
