You’ve been a part of me

My co - teacher requested me to write the lyrics for our graduation ceremonies. So this is the song. I hope I'm doing justice to the life and struggles of the students.

I have been a fledgling, so young so naïve

In pursuit of knowledge that I want to achieve

Friendship was formed along the process

Loyalty and faithfulness I want to possess

Those hard lessons in life that make me scratch my head

I find so cumbersome that I refuse to tread

Experiments that show us the way

Singe my hair I want to say

Chorus

You’ve been a part of me

You’ve stayed within me

You permeate my whole being

With the examples you want me to see

Struggle is an avid companion, my everyday tool

Perseverance pushes me, makes me strong and whole

Values are my beacon, the air I breathe

That I don’t ever want to reckon with

Inching my way, aiming for the top

Every time I fall, I want to stop

But there you are, nudging me to move on

Each step I miss, you replace it with passion

Chorus

You’ve been a part of me

You’ve stayed within me

You permeate my whole being

With the examples you want me to see

Reaching for the summit is my ultimate dream

You’re always here, like a gold old team

Now I’m on the threshold, we’re about to part ways

I refuse to go, I just want to stay

But moving on is an integral part of being alive

This has been the reason why I survive

Bidding adieu is the hardest thing for me to do

Rest assured those memories I’ll always keep, I won’t let go…

Chorus

You’ve been a part of me

You’ve stayed within me

You permeate my whole being

With the examples you want me to see

The Journey

Raci, You are the poem and you are the poet. You are the experience and you are the experiment. You are the song and you are the singer. I mean to say that your song coupled with your endearing presence gives meaning to the Hub Pages and much solace to at least one hubber!! How lovely you write! Take care,

what a beautiful song you've written; lucky students to have this presented to them on their graduation!

I love The Journey--I've never heard it before and it gave me goosebumps. Thanks for sharing this. I will have to get myself a copy of this very inspirational song. I voted this hub up and across. :)

      Wow Raci,

      Amazing work/creation.

You have penned down the emotions of a "today's" student as well. With so much competition, these poor children are constantly under scrutiny.

As i said it once...saying it again...your students are lucky to have you!!

      voted up as awesome/beautiful.
