Howdy All!

This week’s topic is taking a twist, winding its way thru your psyche and inner well being. After all, in order to go “green” you must first consider and take care of your inner self.

Going green not only means saving money, conserving energy and eliminating poisons from the environment, but eliminating poisons from your mind. Do you know it takes 17 muscles to smile and 43 to frown?! That converts to having to work at being miserable, negative and ornery! How natural is that?? (I’m being very sarcastic, here…) I know certain aspects of everyday life can bring you down, but it is in our nature (and obviously our anatomical makeup) to want to enjoy life and be happy.

One of the most important lessons I’ve tried to instill in my son is to take care of your haftas (responsibilities) first, then you have time for, and the undisputed right, to indulge in and enjoy your wannas (desires). This leads me to

A Poem for you

So as not to be verbose, I’d like to share something I wrote. Hey! I’m a poet! (And don’t I know it!). See, there I go again! Seriously, this is from me to you…..

Be True to Yourself

Don’t Compromise.

If

You do–

You’ll only be

Living

Lies.

Too much of ourselves

We give to sustain

And maintain

According to the laws

Of Corporate

Mainstream.

It is a fact of Life

We can’t evade

In order to give ourselves

A Freedom

No one can invade.

But

Never forget

You are your own

Who needs

To feed

Your Soul in order

To find

Your Home.

Your Essence will thrive

By being true to

Yourself.

Will you live

Your Dreams

Or put Life

On a shelf?

Enjoy life!

So I leave you today with this: God did not put us here to work 24/7 (that is unequivocally Man’s doing!), stress and regret! He put us here to enjoy the splendors of Nature, Life and Ourselves! So, sing when you feel like singing, be silly when the mood strikes you, dance when the music moves you and laugh– often!

As a profoundly positive writer once put to song,“Don’t Worry, Be Happy!”

See you next week! And smile– God Loves You!

Peace,

Bravewarrior

I do, too, Martie. It's silly and fun. Just what we need in this world of doom and gloom!

Spy, I was 4 in that picture, my brother was 8 months old. I still remember the dress, it was pink and had a matching bonnet. I hated wearing it. Guess I won that particular battle, huh? The beginning of Bravewarrior perhaps? Rebellion, for sure!

Bravewarrior...HUGS to you!! Thank you for reminding us all of the important "things" in life...as once said they aren't "things". I so agree with you...first you must stand tall and look at yourself in the mirror and find inner peace before you can look at the world....and how sweet it can be when you have inner calm/peace. ENJOY EACH DAY!! and you my friend keep on writing.....m

The immediately preceding comment is from my son. I kinda like how he refers to himself as "her sun"! I wanted him to read this message and the subsequent comments so he knows what I've been trying to teach him is not from a dictatorial standpoint, but one of love and experience. I also wanted him to see how my message has been received by my beloved hubber family.

Sometimes children need to step outside in order to see. Thank you my friends for helping my son step outside in order to receive what I want his psyche to absorb!

Eyes, I'm tickled that I do what I do for you. It makes every effort worthwhile. Being the fabulous writer you are, having the faith in me that you do, makes my heart swell with pride. I'm so glad we met!

Bill, I'm so glad I brought a smile to your face. We can cry and bitch and moan all we want, but in order to be happy and have a feeling of worthiness in this lifetime, our energies must be expended in positive thoughts and actions. In order to do so, we must first be honest (true) to ourselves.

You are such a good friend. I love you dearly!

Happy Father's Day, my friend!! Have Bev give you a hug from me.

I'm smiling after reading this hub! Great message and of course, as you well know, I totally endorse your message. Life is just too short; get out there and enjoy the hell out of it while you can.

Lovely hub from a lovely lady.

Thank you so much, M. Yes, it's true. We cannot be worth a damn to others if we don't first see and feed the worth in ourselves. We all all hosts, to whatever ends. In order to help, soothe and nurture others, we must first do so for ourselves. We must be strong, worthy individuals in order to share with others and help them along the way.

Thank you for your comment. Somehow I knew you'd be the first!

Brave - I have to tell ya - You provide so much inspiration for me to see the lighter side of things in life. This is so finely written and so many things touched my heart. You sound like a wonderful Mom, giving sage advice, I love the photos of what makes your world so much brighter, I enjoy knowing how the house you lived in was restored by your Uncle (and is so elegant and beautiful as only victorians can be). Your poetry is wonderful and I am so glad I came across this. Your words of comfort to me about Fathers Day really made a difference, so does this insightful and uplifting write.

I just want to say thank you for being you and for making a difference for, I'm quite sure, quite a few.

I wish you and yours a wonderful wonderful day tomorrow, along with a life full of laughter, love and great pranks!

Bravewarrior, sometimes it takes a poet to remind one of the important things in life. This is an internal struggle that I grapple with often. I think sometimes we just get so caught up in our attempts to please others, that we lose sight of the importance of being true to ourselves. How can we ourselves be happy or, for that matter, how can we make others happy if we have not taken on the task of being true to ourselves I do believe it is the only way to accomplish both.

Fantastic hub. Voting up and sharing.
