Gypsy Soul

Updated on January 4, 2013

My dear Gypsy Soul,

I caught you wandering down the open road

Careless and free

Looking for adventure behind life's wheel

You dream so many dreams

Travel the world in your mind's eye

My timeless twin,

The dust of new land

Cover's imaginary feet.

Your blue eyes beg

To see the beauty of nature

And the art of the Creator.

My dear Gypsy Soul,

You and I are one spirit

We are the same

One day I will join you

And the dream will emerge

As our reality.

Honestly, I think I was born from gypsies. :) I am adopted so who knows for sure, but I know for a fact I have the wandering spirit in me. Great poem which captured that spirit quite well.

      Thanks!

      To botipton and billybuc:

I caught myself daydreaming today at work and realized that I am dire need of a road trip. I hate to wish my time away, but I can hardly wait for spring.

Wondrful poem here. Wanderlust is a magic beckoning road competing with the tethers we place on ourselves.

I agree and sometimes the urge to break free is quite frustrating. Writing is just one way that I have learned find release. When I put pen to paper, I can go anywhere and be anybody.
