Gypsy's on the Move Again
The bells are ringing
The morning is dawning
Gypsy has left in the night
While fires were burning
through dancing and drinking
she slipped off clean out of sight
She'd been planning and waiting
for one perfect moment
when the New Moon darkened the sky
She had her bags packed
and dreamed of her new life
far from the trains and the strife
The camp was amazed at one of their own
Wanting to leave the fold
when north winds were blowing so cold
but those same voices she heard
had been calling her name
when she followed her will through the snows
in search of a real home
with wooden walls and a fire
and glass on every window
Her lover came in the night
in his shining suit of armor
riding a strong warrior's horse
They would live inside the castle
of the fair righteous king
and try this new way of life of course
Gypsy saw a new adventure
not the death of her freedom
but a new world just opening wide
A wonderful world
where she would live in a house
a be the knight's adoring bride
A dream that she'd had
since she was a child
in the camp, dancing through summertime
But now she thought gladly
It's time for a change
and away in deepest love she did ride.
The camp was moving that day
and rode past the castle
knowing their Gypsy was there
From the gates they saw her watching
and waved goodbye as they passed
everyone turned to stare.
After they'd gone
she strolled down to the road
just to feel the path they made
there she saw the flowers they'd strewn
all over the road
right where they saw her that day.
Note
Friends, Today I move into a new apartment in a new city to start a new job...it's all so exciting and scary at the same time. But, I've had plenty of practice at doing this, so I'm sure I'll be fine in a few days...Take care and talk to you soon! Love, Erin
