Haiku - Tomorrow
Haiku - Tomorrow
by
Dr. Darryl Winer
Inexorable
each heartbeat marks a moment
time in split seconds
Lives for tomorrow
planning, preparing, waiting
for our destiny
The dawning future
awaits and beckons to us
our time is at hand
Ticks on the grand clock
each second marches forward
there is no escape
Barely outside grasp
the unknown lurks from beyond
tomorrow unfolds
Each moment arrives
oblivious to our want
without our consent
Time, its own master
is unimpressed by man’s will
arrives just in time
Trapped within moments
our lives played out on small stage
prisoners of time
Meaningless minutes
time can loiter as it wants
inexhaustible
Every minute counts
man has no such luxury
to waste fleeting days
Our minds unaware
anguish at understanding
insignificance
Time wanders heedless
unbounded and unending
at no pace at all
