Happenstance - A Love Poem

At a Glance

(This is a poem inspired by the novel "Message in a Bottle" by Nicholas Sparks. this was published in my blog, and was denied by HP so i need to revise the original content. I was really smitten by the main characters of the story, that I immediately wrote the poem "At a Glance.")

Your eyes are lingering

And creates a deep yearning

I want to uncover what’s within

I want to probe what’s hidden

The remoteness of that stare

I’ve been needing to bare

I can’t even repudiate

It seems not to abate

The riptide gradually subside

And slowly drifts by the seaside

I have a hard time to fasten

This ill feeling that’s contained

My desire is to unleash

All the looming wretchedness

I want us to start a fresh

And free you from neediness

Since the first time I saw you

A spark consumes my ego

Just bear in mind that Happenstance

Is caught in this Parlance…

Message in a Bottle

I have not read the book but I think you have executed your thoughts wonderfully. My favorite lines are:

      My desire is to unleash

      All the looming wretchedness

I want us to start a fresh

I can't begin to tell you how jealous I am of your poetic talent! My own poems look like I had shaken up a jar of random words, but yours is sheer perfection! Will you have a book of poems published?

hello Phoebe....thank you for the generous comments...until now the thought has not come to mind...but who would not be thrilled to have a book published?it would be a dream come true...hopefully a guardian angel would touch the heart of a publisher...

Raci, a poem as beautiful and lovely as you. Who is the object of desire here, the desire itself seems to come out and ask this. Lovely,
