Hard to Understand
As for one life form on this planet,
who can imagine others just like us,
All across the Milky Way, and could
we all come from the same dust?
Was there but one creator or of many,
as told in Genesis, "We were Made".
Millions of creatures to inhabit the stars,
as all walking in one big parade?
It is so easy to sit on our porch and
think about the daunting questions,
Seemingly, we get lost in our thoughts,
turned about in wrong directions.
The dark night sky filled with bright stars,
is so innocently there on display,
Who could just imagine there are many
like we are, all of such an array?
As each child is tucked in at night,
and being safe in their own beds,
These mysterious questions go unheard,
to wish away all of our dreads.
We have our faiths and dedication
to uphold, trusting in our own God,
Belief in the scriptures we learned about,
how each we came from the sod.
For in this faith, there lies a connection
so strong, nothing may separate,
An enduring thread to bind us every one,
a power that remains so great.
No matter how many, or just where
they may reside, all God's creatures live,
It is His right to provide each one,
and the precious breath of life to give.
