He Asked Her To Marry Him
He asked her to marry him
She thought he spoke on a whim
She tested and questioned him
Whilst his patience wore thin
He asked her to marry him
Nursing a glass full of gin
Whilst she reminisced how her kin
Would say he was no Errol Flynn
He asked her to marry him
But he answered to the name “Kim”
Granted he looked more like a “Jim”
She thought so very little of him
He asked her to marry him
By singing a little hymn
She wondered if it was a sin
What made him even begin?
He asked her to marry him
As she spat her gum in the bin
Determined not to let him win
For she was his girlfriend's twin!
