He Asked Her To Marry Him

Updated on May 16, 2012

He asked her to marry him

She thought he spoke on a whim

She tested and questioned him

Whilst his patience wore thin

He asked her to marry him

Nursing a glass full of gin

Whilst she reminisced how her kin

Would say he was no Errol Flynn

He asked her to marry him

But he answered to the name “Kim”

Granted he looked more like a “Jim”

She thought so very little of him

He asked her to marry him

By singing a little hymn

She wondered if it was a sin

What made him even begin?

He asked her to marry him

As she spat her gum in the bin

Determined not to let him win

For she was his girlfriend's twin!

Thank you all for your kind reviews and especially to Epigramman who is the Prince of poetic twists. LOL

He may have asked her to marry him while under the influence of to much gin, however he was more into Tyrone and a bottle of wine. His tights were out of sight as he took flight into Sherwood Forest and tucked in with Friar Tuck was his luck. I loved your twist and rhyme, Errol would be proud of you. LoL

Yes I forgot to mention that I wrote this in the Epi-twist style to commemorate the founder of this new poetic form - the Prince of Poets, you all know him, his yours - Epigramman.
