He Said

Updated on September 16, 2015

by Amber Maccione

He is too young, they said

But I’m in love, I said

He is just using you, they said

But I’m in love, I said

You’ll wind up doing it alone, they said

But it’s our love child, I said

Don’t leave me, he said

You cheated, I said

How will I see my son, he said

Stop your foolishness, I said

I love you, he said

I love you too, I said

He is too young, they said

But I’m in love, I said

He is going to cheat again, they said

But I’m in love, I said

You will wind up broken, they said

But we’re a family, I said

I don’t want you, he said

But I need you, I said

Give me two years, he said

I’ll wait for you, I said

Let’s be a family again, he said

I love you, I said

Don’t believe him, they said

I trust him, I said

Once a cheater, always, they said

He has changed, I said

He will leave you again, they said

But I love him, I said

I found another, he said

Silence

We’re having a baby, he said

Tears

I’m going to marry her, he said

Weeping

Goodbye, he said

Isn't it sad that a cheater usually holds true to form? You've written this beautifully and so full of emotion and truth.

Sad, but often so true, although many times the "he" doesn't marry the second one either.
