My Heart Has A Place I Hold Very Dear
My Heart Has A Place I Hold Very Dear
Wrapped With Ribbons of Lavender and Gold
I hold it very close to me
If the truth must be told.
It holds the place for the man I'll love;
A man of special gifts;
The gifts of truth,
loyalty and no uncertain crypts.
He'll honor me as I will him
On a pedestal of stone.
He'll like me for what I am
He'll love me even when I'm old.
In my eyes he'll see my dreams
He'll hold me like a treasure.
With un-yielding faith
Never letting go, we'll unite as
one beautiful feather.
My man and I will welcome change
Yet still the basics will stay the same.
He and I will weather storms
Yet steadfast in our dynamic goals
Our bond will be our fame;
our later crowns will be adorned.
In health we'll strive to do our best
In sickness we'll care and wait.
When his days are bleak
His path gets muddy and brown
I'll be there with prayers and pastel cheers
In turn he'll never let me down.
My heart has a place I hold very dear
Wrapped with ribbons of Lavender and Gold
I hold it very close to me
If the truth must be told.
