When the Heart Beats, We write the Contents

I will never forget that wonderful feeling of writing my very first song. I really thought it was a masterpiece and one ahead of its time. Although I knew nothing about music, especially about playing any musical instrument, there was much within me yearning to let go and wanting to be heard by many. I honestly thought that when I started working at my first radio station as a disc jockey it was the avenue from which my singing heart would be heard; I was wrong. It took some time before someone had to push me into writing and making sure that the songs in my heart will be written for this day. And for that person, I am most grateful.

When One's Heart Beats In-Sync with Your Mind

Perhaps many would not believe me when I say that I write as fast as my mouth and heart can beat. I often feel bad since I could not write fast enough to catch what my heart and mind are telling me to sing about. I have also met many rejections and some naysayers telling me to quit since my creations are 'not good enough,' 'too basic,' 'nothing but kiddy bopper music,' or simply the can't-you-do-any-better stare. Admittedly I was deeply affected that I chose not to continue writing and retire my journal somewhere I cannot easily see and read it. The negativity has gotten in me so bad I had to give up the dream of writing songs.

Fast forward to 2012, I met and got married to a lovely wife who has believed in me and has motivated me to pursue those which I have long given up on. In fact, this blog writing is one of them since she has kept on telling me that I have a gift for writing. In so doing, I would want you to see and comment on a few of my songs dating back to 1996. Hope you like them!
