Help! Can You Save Me From Myself, Please.?

Updated on November 05, 2012

When Darkness Falls

I sigh, and feel a weight on my chest,

A deep, painful sigh, causing pain in my breast.

AH! what IS a sigh? And why does it hurt?

My whole being is swimming with questions,

The light in my eyes has gone out............

The strength in my limbs.... disappeared.

Can you save me, my love?

from myself, can you save me?

I have no fight left,

to do it myself,

I need you so much.

I´m out of control,

My mind has been twisted.

Please save me from more..........

I am tired, and so weary,

please..... come and save me,

Before I give out,..

And I am no more.

Save me, my love, as only you can,

Soothe me with sayings of comfort.

remind me of how I can be....

Help me pick up the pieces of me,

Save me as only you can........... Please.!

My legs feel like lead,

My feet in cement,

My arms, I no

longer can lift.

It´s happened before,

So I know with your help

The cement , it can melt,

My legs can gain strength,

Again I can become ´´Me´´.

But only with help,

YOU are my helper,

Come , save me , my love , won´t you, please.?

Dim: Love your poem! We have all needed to be saved at one time or another from ourselves. I know I have. So, I enjoyed reading this. I love the photos - especially the last one - I don't know if you know this or not - that is MY photo that I took in Naples, Florida. Where did you get it? I am taking it as a compliment that you used MY PHOTO with your poem. It is appropriate. Just, please give me credit - I would appreciate it.

What a journey for the mind and emotions!

For a moment, I was traveling back to 1979 when I foolishly believed I could swim across and back Monroe Reservoir in Bloomington, Indiana and the battle to stay afloat that ensued. Next, I was traveling into a land of emotion and helplessness seeking the comfort and strength of love.

      Great Job!

Your poetry shows your strength, courage and sheer will power. Knowing when to call for help is a big part of making it.

I love poetry that can whisk me up and away to another state of mind and emotion. yes, I know the feeling in this poem so much. That sense of needing saving is so human in us all. Wonderfully written, Dim. It is so amazing when someone "picks us up" like that and restores our belief in our own self once more.

Another creative poem that captured all my feelings and tossed them in the water. As I go scrambling through picking up each one like wet clothes that are heavy and slowly sinking some how they manage to still float. I can't explain it but I enjoyed you stirring of all my deepest emotions.

This time I read your poem I feel like a boat that has been battered by the winds and the rain. Finally unable to take any more I spring a small leak that is unrepairable with a matter of hours I shall be one of many other boats that lie on the bottom of the sea.
