Here's to the Memories Being Worth It

Updated on June 19, 2013

We both know that this won't last

And that ending's probably gonna hurt

But here's to the memories being worth it

Here's to us having the courage

To embrace the present moment

Without trying to make it last

Nothing ruins a romance

Like the need for security

And asking someone to make promises

They may be unable to keep

Here's to days we'll never forget

Laughter and kisses and bliss

You can tell a good life

When you are old

By how many things you miss

The title of this poem certainly pulled me in, and I wasn't disappointed by what I found. Lovely poem - it rings very true. Thanks for sharing~

Very touching. Your choice of words and the way you convey them are really excellent. This sort of made me feel sad as I had for a moment felt that I was there in the scene where this was taking place.
