Holly For Us All.

Updated on November 29, 2012
Source

I love Christmas Time and have always done so from way back to when it was my first born's very first Christmas .

As my family grew I loved it even more ;money was very tight so I used to buy and hide away throughout the year.I was as excited as my children were.

I will always remember hearing Leah and Erin talking in their bedroom when they were small . Erin the younger of the two asks Leah if she believed in Father Christmas and Leah replies "Of course there is ;Mam would never have enough money to buy us all those presents that we have!" "Oh great because so and so said in school that there wasn't Santa ;I am so glad there is!!!"was Erin's sweet reply.

That moment will stay in my heart forever.

Today my children are parents themselves and they follow as I did and collect pressies all year round ;visiting them on Christmas day brings back all those wonderful memories !!

This year I am for some reason taking a few trips down Memory Lane, not with foreboding gloom but I look back and compare it all with the life I have today!!

Those Christmas days when I was small with no pressies and I immediately move forward to the wonderful Christmases I had with my children and I am thankful that I was able to do this.

Today this is what I do with my whole life ;I look at what I have today and nothing else's is of no importance anymore.I feel so wealthy, so lucky and will always be so appreciative of all the wonderful things that I am surrounded by today and forevermore.

I love Holly and always manage to get some fresh each year; here I share with you what I find so special in this plant and it's nostalgic magical charm and beauty.

Each red berry

a sign of true love

like that silken taste of mulled red wine

seductive

and oh so very real.

A feeling of warmth that only true love brings.........................

Those green leaves adding

that lustre

that sheen

to a love

in its infancy........................

Promises flow from other nature's heart.

that sense of smooth maturity

relishing in a love so true

so ripe

so sure.

Heartfelt emotions so promised and now relished................

Each prickling edge

keeping invaders at bay

a protection for all that is true .

That potion of magic guarded for life

into each eternal bliss.....................

Each foe met with

strong and powerful

thorns.

Each thorn so true to its promise

to allow new love

to grow

to thrive

never easing in its protection..................

Until this new love has matured into a love

so sure

so grounded

until recognised

as a deep rooted love

that no-one will

steal

no-one will

overcome ........................

So safely cocooned into that true life so rich

so awesome and then smoothly flows into eternal bliss.

To find our place

in a love so pure

blessing us with grace

each shadow a blessing

each sunrise a blessing.....................................

Hearts beating in simultaneous pride.

We never lost our place

in darkness you were my guiding star my hero my true love..............................

To the gifts of one Holly Tree

We owe so much to thee.

In splendour you share your heartfelt and unique love for all!

Diolch I Ti Fy Nghoeden Celyn Fach.(Thank You My Little Holly Tree)............................................

A Christmas Holly

holds onto each rich promise

and eventually shares each love story................................

A Christmas Love.

A Christmas Love.

As I so happily sing

A warm Christmas song

Today I have found you

My heart never wrong.

x

CHORUS

New found holly

Ours for sure.

Deeply in love

Tender and pure.

x

Such a deep wondrous love

So eternal and true .

This warm love to treasure

Eternally with you.

x

CHORUS.

New found holly

Ours for sure

Deeply in love

Tender and pure.

x

As each magical scene

So wondrously painted.

Mother Nature's rare gems

So lovingly planted.

x

CHORUS.

New found holly

Ours for sure.

Deeply in love

Tender and pure.

x

I have always believed

Nothing comes by chance

Our love meant to be

With passion we dance.

x

CHORUS.

New found holly

Ours for sure.

Deeply in love

Tender and pure.

x

We walk on hand in hand

Moving on together

Each precious love song

We now sing forever.

x

CHORUS.

New found holly

Ours for sure.

Deeply in love

Tender and pure.

x

Allow the coming cheer

To bewitch your each day.

As December now arrives

True love lights our way.

x

CHORUS.

New found holly

Ours for sure.

Deeply in love

Tender and pure.

I hope that you enjoyed today's hub; I was deliberating on whether to add a Christmas song but decided it is just a little early so a song on true love was more fitting in my mind!!

I wish you all a wonderful day to come.

Lots of love

Eddy.

Oh mary what a beautiful story and I am so glad you enjoyed this hub.

What wonderful memories we all have; even with the bleakest of childhoods there are many happy times and remembering is a little like turning a tap on;they flow through smoothly as we remember another an d then another !!!

Here's to many more hubs for us both to share on here in this brand New year.

Have a wonderful weekend my dear friend.

      Eddy.

Well, leave it to me to be late in reading Hubs (as usual). When I saw "Holly" in your title, I knew I had to read this one. I have a daughter who was due to be born on Christmas Day. We had chosen the name Holly because of that. She came two weeks early and was the nicest Christmas present we could have received.

I hope you and yours have a wonderful 2013.

This reminded me of the days when my Mother would bring us outside to find holly with those crimson berries. We would bring some in to adorn our home right at Christmas time---bringing some of that beauty that surrounded our property inside was always a treat as Mother loved the land growing beautiful things was so important to her.

I find myself lost in your words when I read your poetry...you choose just the word that paints a lovely picture for us to enjoy.

Sending Angels to you :) ps

Thanks for a great comment Pearl and I know you feel the same way as I do about Mother nature's kingdom. I am so glad your holly grew back and this shows just how resilient the Holly Tree is.

Here's a great start to Christmas for us both.

This is another thing we share: our love of holly! I planted mine over 25 years ago. The second year it was looking great and growing tall. That winter the snow was deep and the deer found my holly most appealing, much to my dismay at the time, because my beautiful holly bushes were all eaten down to the top of the snow. I thought they were doomed, but to my surprise they came back bigger and better than ever! My love and appreciation of nature and all its ways has grown more and more every year. This wonderful piece reminded me of that, so I thank you once again, dear friend. Voted Up+++

Eddy...your appreciation and love for all things 'nature' and all things 'Christmas' is almost childlike in it's gleefulness!

Reading your poetry and your thoughts seems to make me feel...lighter - and let's me know there is much joy still to be found in the world!

Smiling from reading this - and for that - I thank you!

Eddy, your allusion to the thorny leaves of the ever so beautiful holly to working our way though the trials of love, is awesome. No love comes without thorns. But true love prevails over the thorns. It is a test of true love.

You are bringing the spirit of Christmas alive. And so it should be before the season is upon us. Merry almost Christmas my friend. Your beauty of spirit is the angel on the tree!

This is a magical time of year. I well remember the days of believing in Santa Claus and my brothers and I could swear that we once heard them on our rooftop. Pure imagination, I am sure. Ha! I enjoyed your video and your poetry especially these lines:

      I have always believed

      Nothing comes by chance

      Our love meant to be

      With passion we dance.

      Up votes including beautiful.
