Book Review

Homo Americanus: Child of the Postmodern Age authored by Dr. Tomislav Sunic is about multi-culturalism, the pros and cons. It discusses thoroughly its impact on European nations' and the United States of America's society.

This book covers in depth the pitfalls of a multi-culturist society, one that comprises of multiple diverse cultures that live and interact together as a whole. The illuminating points brought up in this book are very thought provoking. Brings up points that most Americans would not think of because of how accustomed they are to a multi-cultural society. Dr. Sunic gives a refreshing candid view, explanations and excellent cited sources.

This book is written in plain English. The reader does not become bogged down with Political Science terminology, common for this particular field. I enjoyed the pleasant easy-to-read style and moderate pace this book gifted. It was very refreshing for a non-fiction piece, held my interest throughout the book.

Homo Americanus: Child of the Postmodern Age was a much better read than expected since it is nothing like the field standard: very slow paced dry Political Science works that many readers, even those interested in the field, would seem to take forever to read cover to cover. This is a delightful trend with Dr. Sunic's works, one does not feel the length while reading them.

This is one of the best and most captivating Political Science books I have read. I have read numerous books in this field over the years, even many in college as a Political Science major.

I highly recommend Homo Americanus: Child of the Postmodern Age, especially for those interested in modern Political Thought and Political Science. This is a great read for the curious who want to experience the European view that is slanted pro the United States of America. This book is an excellent addition for any at-home library. Enjoy!
