Hopeful: A Poem

Updated on April 7, 2017

My heavy feet feel pinned to the ground,

But I know there's something bright ahead,

Now I'm lost in a maze, but I'll soon be found,

If I keep moving, storing buoyant clouds in my head,

My daydreams are lighter than wispy air,

They lift burdens with every rhythmic beat,

The cadence of my heart's desire leads me there,

As my mind joins the dance, creating sparks of heat,

With the power of possibility shooting through my veins,

I look forward, ignoring the dark shadows behind,

Seeing the future one step at a time, taking the best lanes,

With every choice I make, my enthusiasm and expectation are aligned.
