House mouse house
I can hear the unsettling sound of a mouse
As it runs around freely all through my house
Sometimes in the kitchen I can hear it squeak
And wish that I could yell at it in mouse speak
At night I can hear it moving through the walls
And I lie awake hearing noise that apalls
Sometimes my wife and I just sit there on the couch
While the mouse eats our pizza and acts like a grouch
Sometimes I lay out mousetraps and feel sure we will snare it
If this goes on much longer I'm not sure we'll bare it!
Sometimes I take sledgehammers and create holes
To dig that mouse out with hooks and with poles
That thing drives me crazy! It won't go away!
No matter what evidence I bring or say
Sometimes we just sit there and don't make a sound
While that stupid rodent keeps running around
Why won't it see reason? Why won't it just go?
Why is it so stubborn? We'd both like to know!
We've yelled and harangued and cajoled and insulted
And no good result has as yet resulted
But I'll show that mouse yes finally he'll see
We will destroy the house and at last we'll be free!
