How Can I Not Follow?

How Can I Not Follow

Just when I think It's the end, I find it's just the beginning.

Just when I think I've found redemption, I begin again with the sinning.

just when I have a moment of clarity, I find I'm in the midst of confusion

Just when I think I'm Happy, I find it was just an illusion.

I opened the door to my own death and was well aware when I took my last breath.

Nothing is as it seems.

The moon goes around the earth, the earth goes around the sun,

How can I not follow?

We bury all our dead soldiers then claim "we won!"

I suffer in silence, not because I have nothing to say,

It's just that I think you'd take it the wrong way.

So Around I go, the moon goes around the earth, the earth goes around the sun,

How can I not follow?

This is a little Life I've made. Finally I realize I'm not going to dig my own grave.

But, in my cold hands I find a spade.

I'm claiming a profit but the bills haven't been paid.

Then grief closes in and I feel ashamed.

Just those ugly memories I thought would fade.

The moon goes around the earth, the earth goes around the sun,

How can I not follow?

All teenagers have grand illusions, and pride is a hard thing to swallow.

Love feel's like forever but it was mine only to borrow,

and all the happiness I find may not chase away my sorrow.

We think the ground we walk on is solid, only to fall through and

find it was just hollow, yesterday is followed by today and today is followed by tomorrow,

How can I not follow?

At that age care free at the time

as a teen, obviously care free at the moment running with some of my beloved pets on our farm in New Hampshire.

Aye, indeed "how can I not follow?" does the moon really go around the earth? I don't know, I often wonder if it doesn't just set there as the rock we live on spins round making the appearance that the moon moves as well, I am no physicist or doubter of the power that is, the creator in his magnificence built it all to work so well together, they say the moon pulls the tide as well as many things they say, I remain unconvinced but one day after a time of wondering I will meet the creator who will touch me and his wisdom I will receive, and then I have faith I will know. For now it matters little to me and I wonder will it matter to me then, but as you eloquently wrote "how can we not follow?"

Much Peace, Love and Blessings, may you find here in wait,

You seen to have it nailed down complete,

so here I move on to my day, I must follow,

      dusty

Dear Xastatic, Sometimes a repeated line works out for me if I feel it get's stronger with the emotion or it could go the other way according to the poem and get softer. Thank you for the comment I appreciate it very much!
