Love Poem: How Do you Know When You're In Love?

Updated on June 6, 2013

How do you know you'd give your life for someone?

How do you know when she is the girl of your dreams?

How do you know when you're in love?

The answer is, you just know.

How do you know you want to give someone the world?

How do you know when its time to pop the question?

How do you know when you're in love?

The answer is you just know.

There is no rhyme or reason

No logical way to come to the best possible solution

In matters of the heart

1 + 1 does not equal two

If you have to ask the question

Then chances are you're not in love

But if you know deep down inside

The beautiful women by your side

Is the one you'd give your last breath

Just to see her smile.

If you know

You'd go through Hell and beyond

To provide

Protect

And cherish her forever

Then stop asking questions

And except the fact

That you know you're in love.

How Do You Know When You're In Love?

This question has baffled many people throughout the years. You might even be asking yourself this question right now. There isn't a definitive way to answer it, because love is such a fleeting emotion. You might feel as if you'd do anything for a person one day and months later that person might be the most despicable person in the world to you.

In my experience, the best answer to this question is when you stop asking yourself "Am I in love?". Love is not an analytical emotion. If you're thinking about it too much, then most likely you are not feeling it.

Only you can truly decide when you are in love, so do yourself a favor and stop asking about it. The so called "love experts" who write books on this subject are people who have probably made a lot of mistakes in love, and all they can really do is teach you not to make their mistakes. The truth is, you will make mistakes. You will get hurt and made to feel a fool, but if you are strong and stay true to yourself, you will know the greatest feeling in the world.

Very nice! I agree "If you have to ask the question

Then chances are you're not in love" I know so many people who are "in love" with every new person they meet or others who are weighing the pros and cons. Really?? I'm thinking that there are no pros and cons to the "if" only possibly to the what to do with it. Great poem. Thank you!

lovely poem ... you are right when you say that if one has to ask, then one is not really in love .. you just know it :)
