How To Drop The Mis Before Fortune

Updated on December 29, 2013

We Have All Been There

When a good day turns sour

A great time seems to disappear suddenly

All the fun we once had is replaced by trouble

Wanting to be well is only a prayer

Turning to friends for help

Depending on family to guide us through

Loving the good life just a little bit more

We play the waiting game that can not be rushed

Just when we thought we were out of the woods

We seem to have gone in deeper

Our promising thoughts are dashed

With another unexpected turn of events

Quickly we are reminded it is not over yet

Unfortunately we have to do it alone

From here on out

It is up to our body and mind

To finish what no man has started

Bringing back good health

Shaking the twenty four hour bug

Now I hear it is going around

I didn't believe

Until it sent me for a loop

Like a plane doing tricks high in the air

I felt uneasy and queasy

Bobbing my head up and down

I wanted to hug the ground

I couldn't wait

For this moment to be over and put it all behind me

Moving on was my plan

Pass the warm Ginger Ale and the Saltine crackers

Nothing else seem to matter

How quickly our world changes

As my face turns pale

My hands feel clammy

I try to close my eyes

Take a nap

I beg for sleep

Doing anything to feel better

As my stomach turns over and over

Not music or conversation seems to help

I am cold

Now I am hot

I can't seem to make my mind up

Grin and bear it

I took a few Tylenol

For a headache that came out of the blue

To pound my happiest thoughts out of sight

I am the one that doesn't get sick

I am the one with yolk on my face

As I try to laugh

I will be home soon

As every bump gives me a new reminder

The chills wont let me forget

Home at last

Racing for bed after a quick shower

I will delete this memory from all my thoughts

With a stroke of my computer

As soon as I am well again and this awful feeling is over

Michael-Milec When we feel the worst it is easy for our mind to follow. Instead we have to keep our head up and tell our body to do it's thing and get better and fight with all it's might. The more I open up and let my thoughts reveal themselves the easier it is to write naturally and the flow just happens.I am so happy I spend the time exploring my mind and my imagaination . What a combination. Thank you for sharing and caring.

Michael, what a profound statement your last sentence is. Trying is a road to success .

Michael-Milec All your comments I approve. Some I have to click on them a few times. For some reason my computer doesn't recognize it.One of the mysteries of computers. I put a lot of time in my responses and it takes me awhile. I am pleased with everyones comments because I get to think deeper about what I wrote and what others understood. Trying to write better each time is my only goal.

      Hello dream-on.

What an amazing poem under " special " visitation upon your body. Could be use as a study material for future references, how to not to come "there " anymore. We all learn from similar situations, don't we? If I have told you before, forgive me please, but I hate sickness and learn not to accept a" package " when the enemy wants to deliver one. (Seriously). It's weird though , but I speak to my body occasionally.

Wishing you total healthy this " New" 2014, all the way blessings.

      Voted interesting .

      So long my friend.
