How to Eat Fried Worms Book and Movie

How to Eat Fried Worms is a children's book. The author is Thomas Rockwell. It was first released in 1973. The book is based on a middle school aged boy named Billy who really wants a mini bike. Billy makes a bet that he can eat a worm every day for fifteen days in order to get enough money for his precious mini bike. His friends literally cook up ways for him to be able to win the bet by trying to make worms taste better.

I remember reading How to Eat Fried Worms when I was a little girl. I loved this book. I was shocked to find out that it is actually one of the most commonly challenged books and a target for censorship!

In 2006, a movie was made based on the book. It was also titled How to Eat Fried Worms. It differs quite a bit from the book. The movie brings the subject of bullying into light, as well as a few other changes.
