Hyena (The Cry)

Updated on November 17, 2015
Mihnea Andreescu profile image

Mihnea-Andrei Andreescu is a Romanian Symbolist/Avant-Garde poet and author of "Of Ecstasy and Sorrow".

Raucous chuckles aggravate;

Gorge gross flesh,

Flesh fresh and raw - the buffalo

Brought to its knees,trembling...

Greedy fangs puncture the gullet,

Supress and strangle bovine verve !

- Crumb thick brawn,tear it apart !

A final, impaired groan

- A cry to its Maker...

And it impacts the ground,inert...

      The essence of the creature is here.

      Beautifully drawn. The line between hunter and prey and the sad truth of mortality.
