I Am Hiding- a poem
Oh Lord,
Make me invisible;
I want to face my day but
I don't want to talk to anyone;
They might not like what I have
To Say;
I might look at someone
With a smile, only to be
Greeted with a grimace.
If I at least can
Hold my breath
As I pass these gremlins by.
Oh Lord,
Let me be invisible,
When crossing the city street,
Not knowing the intentions
Of the passers-by,
So I am not a target of any
Senseless crime.
I have no money, no wealth
To steal;
Just a smile and a pleasant
Thought in my mind
As I approach my destination.
If I could climb inside
My mind today,
I will not feel the pain
Of being bullied,
Of being lied to,
Scorned at.
I have no intention
For harm or deceit.
There must be a
Relief.
The fear that
Was created by
Insults and mockery
Can make me
Want to disappear.
Crawling into that
Hidden space
That secret place,
Where Love and
Light abides,
Helps me
Pick up my head,
Dry my face
And encourage
My Light to shine
Again.
My prayers
Have been answered,
And all is forgiven
On the
Outside.
