I Dream of A Child
Top on the roof, smoking a light
I dream of a child, playing in sunlight
He has no worries, he has no fear
He runs and laughs, he has no fear
He sees the moon, he tries to catch
He sleeps with a smile, no smile could match
It brings in me an emotion so mild
When every night, I dream of a child
He dances in the rain
Feels every drop on his chest
Free-lances in the storm
Like a cub, in the wild forest
He makes boats of paper
Runs along them, with no reason
There’s only innocence about him, the boats’ sole maker
It brings me the joy, like wildness in the wild
When every night, I dream of a child
He doesn’t fight, he doesn’t envy
He only has friends
He has no enemy
He doesn’t judge, he doesn’t pry
When he is hurt, there’s his mother’s lap to cry
He doesn’t have responsibilities, he has no boss behind
He is a free soul, a wanderer of his own mind
I feel so relaxed
When every night, I dream of a child
Sometimes it seems, I dream of myself
I feel I was like him once
I feel I wish to be like himself
A free soul, a wanderer, a seeker
I try to find reasons unknown
Why that child left me all alone
But the dream never lasts long
Again I wait for the night all along
And as I delve into sleep
I find that part of my mind
Where every night, I dream of the child
