Ahem...I Hate Storms!

Sitting here waiting for a storm. Wishing it away, but the howling wind tells me it's coming soon. I have always been afraid of storms. Underneath the bed, was where you would find me as a child. Tonight, I am much larger than I was at age 7 and being underneath my air mattress doesn't provide as much comfort as one might think.

Damn this house with no damn basement!

The basement of my dreams would not be dank and dark, but filled with excitement galore - a craft corner with crayons, markers, paper, and more!

A board game corner where Monopoly, Uno, and Clue will be played - a corner filled floor to ceiling with books. A to Z, they will be displayed.

The last little corner will be special no doubt - a fortress of pillows and blankets - a stress free zone to lounge about.

A very tall bed sits in the middle of the floor - it's not for sleeping - underneath you will find my big butt during storms!

I HATE STORMS!

      Hi ElectricDareITouch:

A storm my kingdom for a storm

Given the haven you have just created

      In a basement full of

      Popcorn dipped in chocolate

Dark choc I hope as it has all

      The storm the body needs

Just read a hubdinger chocolate trip

      To the world of dungeons

      Dracula is impressed

      While I’m just being silly

Gypsy, I find storms beautiful when I can see them, but storms at night scare the crap out of me! Thanks for stopping by!

I fully understand why people would hate storm because they are frightening. When I was little and in my teen years I was so scared whenever a storm came. Now however I love storms the wild wind and lightning and whatever it brings. Somehow I find it all a romantic and scary adventure. Go figure. Of course I'm not talking about hurricanes, tornadoes and such storms just about your usual big, windy, rainy thunderstorms.

Bill, I know it's weird, but I love storms sometimes, too. If they happen during the daylight hours, I'm fine because I can see what's coming at me, but at night, you can't see that huge spiraling wall coming at you!

Thanks for the comment and I hope to be back for good this time!

You know, Lisa, if I didn't have to worry about fir trees crashing through the ceiling I would love storms. I love their power, but they do have the potential to upset our apple cart from time to time. :) Good to see you writing.
