I See A Stranger- A Poem

Updated on January 6, 2012

I see a stranger

who's eyes I remember.

Warm and trusting eyes

Who are you and where have you been?

It seems ages since I've seen those eyes.

I see a stranger

who's eyes I remember.

Warm ocean-blue eyes

I remember you

The mirror does not lie.

I am the stranger

who's eyes I remember

No longer a cold, steel grey

The happiness and light are back.

The emptiness and sadness are gone.

I will not let them return

I will keep my warm ocean-blue eyes forever
