I Want A Me And You - Poetry By Cathy Nerujen
I Want A Me And You
So can you wear that dress for me?
The floral blaze - thigh high -
the sleeveless night-time deep sea blue
- the tidal wave tie dye -
Can you share with me this sunset -
as I steal from you these glances -
us walking on this shoreline -
so full of hope and answers -
Can I put these flowers in your hair -
you gentle, soft and slim -
my arm around your waist so tight -
the daylight soft and dim -
Can I walk you home on cobbled stones
- the street kids dancing round -
the air so hot - and full of life -
Pampanga's full of sound -
Can I whisper you my feelings?
Should I dare to say its name?
Can we both say what we're thinking, Fehl -
you feel it - just the same -
Your eyes are angel fireworks now -
you smile - and sparkle out -
your hands are warm - and tight in mine -
you make me want to shout -
Can I share with you these kisses?
I've kept them for so long -
they're sweeter more than Hershey's
I'll even write a song -
we scaled these city walls so high -
we climbed the highest peak -
we mapped and walked upon these slates -
and made their meaning speak -
Can we meet again tomorrow?
Can we do it all again?
Will love be more than ever?
And never let it end?
Can girls like us be lovers?
Can life be fair and true?
Can families come together?
I want a Me and You.
