"I Am" Poem by Kwade Tweeling
Edit (2017-10-30) Deleted the broken link that used to lead to an "I am" poem generator.
FYI
In school, we were assigned the "I Am" Poem format. I felt like changing it up a bit and posting it here. I will post the template below. If you write one, please send me a message and I will link to it.
"I am"
I am tired of fighting and weary of this world.
I wonder when we will stop fighting for the sake of fighting.
I hear people argue about getting their fair share.
I see death and bloodshed over possessions we would rather share.
I want to see an end.
I am tired of fighting and weary of this world.
I pretend we are happy and have hope.
I feel like it is already too late and we are lost.
I touch my children’s faces.
I worry that our children will not see their potential.
I cry because there is so much they could have.
I am tired of fighting and weary of this world.
I understand that change starts in each of us.
I say live for each other and in this we will live for ourselves.
I dream that tomorrow will be better.
I try to bring peace and love wherever I go.
I hope we still have a chance.
I am tired of fighting and weary of this world.
I am hopeful and driven to expand our potential.
I wonder when love will triumph.
I hear laughter.
I see people opening their hearts to each other.
I want to see everyone successful and happy.
I am hopeful and driven to expand our potential.
I pretend we are a people united.
I feel love and harmony from many around me.
I touch the future and smile.
I worry no longer when the spirit of unity flows through our lives.
I cry tears of joy when our hearts share love.
I am hopeful and driven to expand our potential.
I understand we have grown from a young, angry race fighting to survive; into a powerful race able to touch the stars and break limits.
I say reach for the stars! Hold each other in your heart. Together we can do anything!
I dream of a future abundant; in technology and in harmony with nature.
I try to nurture hope and love.
I hope.
I am hopeful and driven to expand our potential.
