I can't feel the rain

Updated on November 17, 2012

Is it cold outside

Outside this heart of pain

Empty fear it haunts me

As I walk in the rain

No frightened of the thunder

That shakes the cold dark sky

It's the terror of my future

Without courage to try

To wake with a dry face

Pretending I don't care

Still sleeping on your side

Night wishing you were there

Do I just keep walking

Alone in the cold rain

Disguising tears upon my face

Washing away the shame

Sleep is for the happy

Searching solace is in vain

So I shall walk forever

As I can't feel the rain

Jon, kick off your shoes, lift your face and walk in the rain. Let it cleanse your tortured heart. Nature will purify you. Man (woman) will petrify your soul if you allow it. Take hold, say no and walk in the rain.

Voted up and awesome. This poem speaks volumes and the pain just comes right through. Really emotional.

How sad that the pure fresh water of rain is always blamed for salty tears! Surely hail would do a better job with better effect? Crying off into the sunset seems a complete travesty... why on earth do we allow such things to occur only on rainy days? There are some good bones in your poem... expressively.. have a good look at them and you will see what wonders a sunny day can do to heighten their effect dramatically... thanks for the opportunity to read your work.. PD

The pain is felt to one's core in your words written here. Very powerful. One must persevere through that pain and have that courage to keep trying, as if one does not at least try, then one may never know of that great joy that could be their's the very next morn. There is always hope for a new tomorrow, but there are such seasons we all go through no doubt.

      Voted up

God bless. In His Love, Faith Reaper

Your words have power and I can feel their pain. Just remember that everything has a season and this too shall pass.
