I will share you
A time has come to pass;
leaving shadows chasing the clock
and you look at me as though you've never seen me this way before
Only it's the 'you' that baffles me
I listen all day to the banter of old maids;
a constant upchuck of vowels and nouns and verbs
and search through the haze of chocolate frosting
through the forest fed by spring.
It's as though ' you' never existed
'You' who wears hooker red toes
'You' who finds selfishness an intolerable weakness.
'You' who hears from spirits in
ghostly dreams
'you' who wakes
and walks through haunted rooms
'you' with great hair.
But still it seems
'You' will not eat your cake.
'You' who is all these things but claiming none of them as 'you',
Who is 'you' and why do her eyes gaze this way?
trying to soak up something
shes never seen before
I'll find 'you' somehow - someway
and when I do
I'll share you with the world.
