If I had one breath

Updated on October 26, 2014
I've cried inside for days now
My heart has drowned in tears
The strength I used to feel
Now lost consumed in fear
But my soul.....
Was forged in courage
And I will find my way
One foot before the other
Building strength again each day
I know all of the pitfalls
And traps that held me back
But you're the light
And my reason
In a world that once was black
It tares me up to see you
In doubt with all you love
To think that you are hated
Looked down from all above
The truth is you're the anchor
The strength they rely on
Around you all adore you
Your warmth shines like the sun
If I had one breath
Just one breath
Only one before the end
I'd use for a kind word
With which your heart would mend

Beautiful! I'm glad you explained the reason for the poem. One breath, I like that...
