If The Fathers Only Knew
The shames of our congress, so perfectly evident today,
All the wrongs can be righted, but there's only one way..
Take my face from the bill, old Benjamin is heard to say,.
Remove mine as well, says old Jackson, joining the fray.
What's happened to our work, that we've tried to display,
Must every law that we created, have now gone all astray?
Where a true Democracy is, this to be our very foundation,
It's the very guts and real brains forming any great nation!
Remove my picture as well, we all now hear Jefferson say,
I'll donate my Monticello, give to the needy, then I will pray!
Take my humble face from five dollar bills, our Lincoln said,
It's surly not our true country for which so many have bled!
Now put the picture back on every last bill, one we do know,
Tell the whole world what we're about,.let it all finally show!
When's disgrace truly disgraceful, of many lies, plain to see,
Can we now be counted a real world leader, anymore to be?
Time's of the utmost importance, there's not a minute to lose,
We must right our ship on the sea, no more our goals confuse.
We were based on the premise all are as equals, none better,
We must follow this to perfection, our constitution, every letter!
We once were truly great, admired by all the world, of ts entirety,
We may achieve that once again, show our neighbors we can be!
By our putting aside all jealousies, take up the reigns once again,
Prove our merits and show our strengths, count everyone a friend!
